Work it out

Since moving the shop back home I joined the gym, Finally!!!!
Neil has been going forever.  I use to go years ago and I loved it at the time.   Believe me, its not easy to get it together again.  I've been going for about three weeks.  The first two were not much fun.  They have a room for women only, but I just felt like I wasn't getting anywhere.  So I joined Neil and began doing his workout with weights.  LOVE IT!!!! I feel like I'm getting somewhere. Gyms have really brought on a whole new game.  So many new things to do.  I for one am the worst at getting bored and bored quick.  Now, there are a ton of different workouts that are fun and motivating.

Like these I found at
Muscle & Fitness Hers on Facebook

• With one Bosu on the floor, flat-side down, set another Bosu on top of it, round-side down. Assume an incline pushup position with feet hip width.
• Descend into a pushup under control, then return to start. Perform 2 sets of 12 pushups. Advanced: Perform on one leg.

Bosu Squat Jump and Hold
Works: Core, Legs

• Jump up, pressing your arms to your sides, then land in a squat position, arms forward, and hold. Repeat for 2 sets of 15 reps

Single-Leg Medicine Ball Deadlift

• Stand on your right leg holding a 10-pound medicine ball, with your left leg straight and lifted slightly behind you.
• Keeping your right knee “soft,” lower med ball to ankle height and lift your left leg until it’s parallel to the floor. Return to start, until med ball is at mid-thigh and your right toe is behind your left heel. Repeat for 2 sets of 12 reps on each leg.

Home is where the heart is

Our little shop has moved back home.  We are in the process of bringing clothes into our shop, so we needed more room.
This way we will be able to bring our customers even better prices.  So looking forward to going to the Atlanta Mart for fashion shows and bringing it all back home.

I've been taking a break from the shop since we've moved.  I felt I needed to breathe a little bit before jumping back in.
Trying out normal for a change.
*Spending time with my family
*Going to the gym
*Watching a movie to the end
*Shopping for myself and not the shop
*Cleaning the whole house and not just here and there
*Sat down at a restaurant and ate
*Went to one of Courtland's track meets
*Put birdfeeders in the yard
*Planting flowers and a garden
Forgot how much I missed the simple things in life.

Love this jacket with the pink and black accessories.

My eyes went straight to the handbag....love it.

This outfit just looks so comfy.  Again, browns are not my color, but I could rock this. (in my own little world) :)

Our little shop has so much history

This morning I had a customer come in to see how different the shop was since her mother had it as a beauty shop for 50 years.  Listening to her tell me stories about her and her brothers and sisters playing with all the kids whose parents also had shops on the square.  Department stores filled the area were the
amphitheater is now.
Showing me where the hair dryers and hair/nail stations were placed in the shop and where a brick planter use to be outside the window.  She helped wash hair and take down rollers.  Taking the trash out back since she was knee high. She still has her mothers beauty shop sign.  I could tell those were the good old days. I thought I had heard a lot of history about this old building, but she took me back even further......and get this their last name is even Lambert..how funny is that?  It makes me proud to be here to continue making history for this old building.  I've always had a love for antiques, old buildings and their stories.  So I wouldn't be surprised if antique accessories started showing up in our shop in the future.

Summer Scarves

Summer Scarves

Ahhhh!!! My new love....Scarves and......in the summer too!!
How do you wear your summer scarves?

Fun ways to wear a scarf

Try these unique ways.......

Wear your scarves during the summer days and wrap yourself up on those cool summer nights

 A few more ways:

Simple tie. Best with your winter coat's collar turned up and the scarf lying under the collar to help secure it.
One loop around. Wrap long scarf once around neck.
Loop around and knot. Fold a large triangular scarf or shawl with fringe in half with the points in front. Wrap around back once and tie in front.
Bib style. Take a square scarf and fold in half. Tie in back.
Shawl wrap. Drape around your shoulders and tie in front. Or leave one end longer and sweep it over your shoulder for more drama and warmth.
Fold, tie, and loop. Fold long scarf in half lengthwise, wrap around your neck, and pull the ends through
Let it hang.  Let a long scarf hang around the back of your neck so that the two ends are in front, on either side

Have fun with your summer scarves!
